I was more than happy to make my return journey to the newly completed Hotel 258 in Harare late last year to shoot some fresh images of their rooms and common spaces as well as a few lifestyle pictures of people enjoying the facilities at the hotel. A few subtle soft furnishings had been updated so in addition to the lifestyle type shots I covered a few more of their awesomely styled rooms, making sure to capture some close detail in the rooms. As usual I had a productive and fun time with the client, what do you think of the results?
Hotel photography
Hotel 258...
In August I was asked by the owners of Harare’s newest boutique accommodation, Hotel 258 to create some marketing material of their property for the grand opening. Being a city hotel the focus was mainly on the modern, fresh looking rooms, each with a unique design style and elements. All in all it was a fun shoot and I think the results speak for themselves! Be sure to give their Instagram page some love!

N1 Hotel Victoria Falls
In early December I was contracted by the N1 Hotel in Vic Falls to photograph their newly renovated rooms and public areas. Being early December the weather plays a constant stress factor but thankful it behaved and blue skies prevailed, allowing me to create some great images! Please see a small selection below, do let me know what you think!

Holiday Inn Bulawayo...
I have been working with African Sun Hotels now for may years and during the course of 2019 most of their properties have been refurbished, so in January this year I was asked to head down to Bulawayo and capture the recent refurbs at the Holiday Inn Bulawayo. Most areas of the hotel had been refurbed so it was a particularly busy shoot covering the external views of the hotel, the rooms, restaurant, conferencing facilities, gym as well as a few lifestyle images for their social media platforms. Check out a few of the results below, and if you are ever in Bulawayo pop into the hotel to see the refurbs for yourself!
Modern interiors with Rainbow Tourism...
I am lucky enough to do a lot of work with one of Zimbabwe’s eminent tourism operators Rainbow Tourism Group and I recently spent a morning photographing their new room renovations at one of their leading city hotels. Which one is your favourite design?
Nesbitt Arms...
The iconic Nesbitt Arms in Chiredzi has recently undergone a soft refurb and so I was approached by the marketing team to help create some fresh images of the newly refurbished rooms and exterior of the hotel.
Bustling around Banff Lodge...
Earlier this year I was asked by the team at Banff Lodge to create some new marketing images of their BnB. Situated in the Bulawayo suburbs this family owned BnB was a real pleasure to shoot!
I was asked to cover all the public areas of the BnB in different lighting conditions and including some of the staff at work in the restaurant and their popular pool deck, I particularly like the images of the pool and external images of the BnB in the blue evening light, check them out below and see for yourself.

In addition to the general public areas some of the rooms had been newly refurbished and so some great images of these were also needed, what would a hospitality shoot be without pictures of the sumptuous rooms on offer?

Another highlight of the day for me was shooting their new food menu, the main challenge here was keeping my grumbling tummy at bay during the duration of the food shoot! Check out some of the delicious results below!

Its always a pleasure for me to do hotel photography and on this occasion with Banff lodge it was no different, I would like to say a huge thanks to the team on the ground who made everything happen to effortlessly!
Batonka and the beautiful Blue...
Batonka Guest Lodge must be one of the most well appointed small boutique lodges in Victoria Falls so when they asked me to help them update their marketing gallery I was thrilled! Although the focus was to create some fresh material to be used as signature images for the lodge's new marketing strategies some more general shots of the public areas and rooms where required to replace older images. You can see some of the great results below.

The owners of the lodge really love the look and vibe of the property in the 'blue light' just after sunset so as the sun started to dip over the horizon there was some frantic activity to ensure that all the areas we wanted to cover were well prepped and looking fantastic. I'm sure you will agree that the character of the lodge is really accentuated by the soft tones and poppy colours of that magical blue hour.
In addition to the beautiful blue images above we took to the air to look for some unique angles of the lodge that really showcase the green haven that it is. As usual my drone did not disappoint and I was able to capture a stunning sunset above the lodge.
All in all I am sure you will agree with me that the shoot was a great success, thankfully so did the owners of Batonka Guest Lodge who where thrilled with some of the fresh angles that we managed to capture! I had great fun shooting Batonka and would like to thank the owners for the opportunity to shoot and showcase the lodge.
Focusing on Food...
Food is certainly a large part of the overall experience that we have come to expect from modern travel and so a large part of my job when photographing hotels and safari lodges is to showcase the amazing food on offer. So when Zimbabwean hotel giant Rainbow Tourism Group wanted to showcase some of the premier dishes available at their hotels I was all too happy to rise to the occasion. I would like to let the food do all the talking here, so below are some of the delicious results...
Luxury in the heart of Harare...
I am very fortunate to be able to travel all over Zimbabwe and southern Africa photographing luxury lodges, hotels and BnB's but luckily for me I only had to head around the corner to photograph the luxurious no 18 Guest Lodge in Harare.
Situated in the heart of Harare's northern suburbs is offers the perfect blend of luxurious comfort and homeliness. Its spacious interiors and open plan living areas made it a joy for me to photograph as space was never an issue and I could move around quite easily to ensure that I got the perfect angle every time.
As is the norm with any shoot of a tourism product the aim was to showcase all aspects of the lodge, from the public areas through to the rooms and the amenities on offer. As you can see from the images below the public areas are invitingly comfortable and well appointed.
The rooms where equally well appointed and offered a comfortable environment in which any traveller could unwind and relax.
The exterior of the guest lodge offers a warm, inviting facade as you drive through the gates.
The lodge also offers amazing facilities to its clients including a very healthy menu to choose from.
