Africa University...

Africa University is one of Zimbabwe’s premier Universities that caters to students from all over Africa. Set in the rolling hills just outside Zimbabwe’s Eastern city of Mutare, the campus grounds lend themselves well to being photographed!

Despite COVID-19’s disruptive effect over the past years, the University was keen to showcase all the facilities they have on offer, even while most of its students where learning at home.

I was asked ny the communications department at the University to help showcase the Uni’s physical and academic facilities as well as do some ‘mock up’ shots of students learning in the various departments.

Delicious food at Azzurri...

Azzurri Pub and Grill offer some delicious food! I know this because I got to sample a lot of it while I was photographing their menu not so long ago. Azzurri not only wanted their dishes photographed but wanted to created some ambiance shots around their cocktails and dining out experience at the venue, so we used some friends to play the part of diners, and funnily enough they also loved the food! Which dish would you love to tuck into?

Zimplats

I have been working closely with the communications team at Zimplats over the past few years creating content for a number of their marketing and online platforms. Earlier this year I was tasked with photographing their mining operations and CSR projects for their 2020 integrated annual report. The brief was centred around Zimplats core institutional values; the mining process, employees, shareholders and the community around the theme “we respect, we care, we deliver”. The scale of the Zimplats operations meant that I was never far away from some stunning visual opportunities and I am thrilled with the results!

Vibrant interiors in Harare's CBD...

Architecture is definitely one of my favourite photographic genres and so when I was commissioned by Office Design to photograph their amazing new multi-purpose office space for Old Mutual Zimbabwe I was naturally thrilled. The concept of the shared working space is not new to the corporate world, but it is new to Harare and the team behind the design and implementation of the project have certainly created a world standard product. My brief was to showcase the project as a whole with wide angle shots and then focus in on some of the intricate design details. Check out some of the vibrant results below.

Creating a buzz for social media with Halsteds...

I have been working with the amazing team at Halsteds for many years and recently I helped them create some images in their stores that will be used on their social media platforms. We shot images in all areas of the store, from general shopping in the aisles to hardware and bathroom fittings and created a substantial range of images. Check out some of the results below!

Holiday Inn Bulawayo...

I have been working with African Sun Hotels now for may years and during the course of 2019 most of their properties have been refurbished, so in January this year I was asked to head down to Bulawayo and capture the recent refurbs at the Holiday Inn Bulawayo. Most areas of the hotel had been refurbed so it was a particularly busy shoot covering the external views of the hotel, the rooms, restaurant, conferencing facilities, gym as well as a few lifestyle images for their social media platforms. Check out a few of the results below, and if you are ever in Bulawayo pop into the hotel to see the refurbs for yourself!

Dr Trouble is back again...

Anyone who has been following this blog over the years should by now know at least 2 things about me; that I love chilli sauce and that I love Dr Trouble’s Chilli sauce more than most! I have been lucky to shoot product shots for the masterminds behind the sauce since the beginning, and I am always thrilled when I get another opportunity to shoot their quality products in the studio. Earlier this year I was tasked with capturing their new, limited edition packaging as well as a few more product shots to illustrate how many lemons are crammed into each bottle of deliciousness. If you are a fan of chilli, check out the food porn below!

Mouth-watering meals at Tiffany's...

I spent another afternoon with a rumbly-grumbling tummy at Tiffany’s restaurant in the Cresta Jameson Hotel recently in Harare, where I was tasked with photographing their mouth-watering menu for their imminent re-opening. The restaurant had just undergone some renovations so in addition to some gourmet food photography I was also tasked with capturing the restaurant space as well as a few lifestyle images for Cresta’s social media platforms. Can you get through the gallery without salivating?

Bespoke furniture by Elite Interiors...

I have been working with the talented bespoke furniture creators at Elite Interiors for quite a few years now and so I was obviously more than happy to help them photograph their new range of furniture earlier this year. Normally the furniture is brought into my studio to be photographed, this time however I went to their bustling factory with my portable backdrop and studio equipment to shoot on site. Who wouldn’t want any of these amazing pieces of furniture in their home?

Mimosa Mining...

Platinum mining giant Mimosa Mining recently commissioned me to help update their marketing images database. The brief was to get engaging images of their staff and operations to be used on all their marketing platforms. This required me to be on site for 3 days of hectic shooting that spanned the mining operations both above and below ground, their CSR projects in the surrounding communities as well as staff and aerial images.

Mimosa are platinum miners and so the bulk of their operations are underground, so I spent a fair amount of time way below the earth surface capturing all the activity. I think the results below do both the staff and the operations justice?

Being a large mine there is also a lot of activity and infrastructure above ground and the following day was spent capturing this variety above ground. Check out the results below.

Mimosa prides itself on being a modern, responsible mining operation and hence has a established and far reaching CSR projects that extend from their immediate community to all corners of Zimbabwe. I spent a day in the Mimosa community and quite a few days travelling the country capturing their amazing work in schools, hospitals, clinics and vocational training centres. Check out some of the inspiring images below.
