Dr Trouble is back again...

Anyone who has been following this blog over the years should by now know at least 2 things about me; that I love chilli sauce and that I love Dr Trouble’s Chilli sauce more than most! I have been lucky to shoot product shots for the masterminds behind the sauce since the beginning, and I am always thrilled when I get another opportunity to shoot their quality products in the studio. Earlier this year I was tasked with capturing their new, limited edition packaging as well as a few more product shots to illustrate how many lemons are crammed into each bottle of deliciousness. If you are a fan of chilli, check out the food porn below!

Mouth-watering meals at Tiffany's...

I spent another afternoon with a rumbly-grumbling tummy at Tiffany’s restaurant in the Cresta Jameson Hotel recently in Harare, where I was tasked with photographing their mouth-watering menu for their imminent re-opening. The restaurant had just undergone some renovations so in addition to some gourmet food photography I was also tasked with capturing the restaurant space as well as a few lifestyle images for Cresta’s social media platforms. Can you get through the gallery without salivating?

Bespoke furniture by Elite Interiors...

I have been working with the talented bespoke furniture creators at Elite Interiors for quite a few years now and so I was obviously more than happy to help them photograph their new range of furniture earlier this year. Normally the furniture is brought into my studio to be photographed, this time however I went to their bustling factory with my portable backdrop and studio equipment to shoot on site. Who wouldn’t want any of these amazing pieces of furniture in their home?

Modern interiors with Rainbow Tourism...

I am lucky enough to do a lot of work with one of Zimbabwe’s eminent tourism operators Rainbow Tourism Group and I recently spent a morning photographing their new room renovations at one of their leading city hotels. Which one is your favourite design?

Burnt Earth Designs...

I had such a fun time with Burnt Earth Designs recently! They manufacture bespoke clay mosaics in Harare. The sheer creativity and devotion that goes into each ceramic piece is amazing, and the results are breathtaking! I was lucky enough to get to photograph a variety of Burnt Earth installations recently, and you can see for yourself how stunning they are below.

Now these amazing installations would not be possible without being able to implement that creative vision in the workshop. Each piece is hand made from scratch by a small, talented team in their Harare worksop.

Possibly even more impressive than the team at the workshop is the team at the studio who make the ceramic pots, cups and cutlery using a potters wheel. The skill, practice and patience required to create the beautiful results is a pleasure to watch!

Zimbabwe's Pharmaceutical leaders...

A few months ago I was asked by Pharmanova, one of Zimbabwe’s leading pharmaceutical manufacturers to create some images for their website and marketing materials. The brief included shots of the manufacturing and packaging process, the quality control aspect in the lab as well as staff working and some of their products in a retail space. Pharmanova run their operations to a world class standard and so the images I created had to showcase that to the best of their ability. I feel I did Pharmanova justice!

Power to the Shoe

I bought a new pair of shoes recently, and of course being the diehard photographer that I am I couldn’t miss the opportunity to photograph the shoes in my studio! I wanted to show off the great detail on the bottom of the shoes and so used some raking light from quite an acute angle to emphasise the shape and texture. Once I was happy with the lighting on the shoe I shot the shoe on black and then used a variety of gels on the background to create a pop of colour. Which one is your favourite?

Strauss Logistics...

Strauss Logistics, one of Zimbabwe’s largest bulk fuel transporters, asked me to help them with some images for their corporate website. The brief was to capture a variety of images of operations at their main depot which included; people at work throughout the various departments, trucks in the yard as well as aerial images of the premises and vehicles. I am very happy with the results which you can see below!

Helping develop Zimbabwe's communities....

During my career as a professional photographer I have been fortunate enough to work with some exceptional organisations and corporates dedicated to uplifting Zimbabwean communities through their Corporate Social Responsibility and community development programmes. Covering these programmes has taken me all over Zimbabwe and I have been fortunate enough to meet some amazing people in areas I had never travelled to before. I always walk away from a trip inspired by the efforts of both the communities and the organisations running the development programmes.
